Who Are We?
Vibrant. Energetic. Optimistic. Fun. These are just some of the words that describe this community of faith located in Damascus, Maryland, the "northern star" of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington.
Many of us met our best friends at St. Anne's. But unlike the friend who lives down the street or works in the same office, these friends share a deeper connection because of our spiritual relationship. We worship together. We hold one another up in times of sorrow. We laugh together in times of joy. Our friendships are deep and meaningful because they are grounded in our common faith in God.
We actively participate in a number of outreach projects, and the generosity of the congregation is extraordinary. For example, after Hurricane Katrina nearly destroyed New Orleans, members of St. Anne's rented a large truck and filled it--with assistance from the community--with everything from deodorant to toilet paper. We then drove the truck to Louisiana where the supplies were donated to an Episcopal church for distribution.
