Saint Anne's Youth

About S.A.Y.

St. Anne’s Youth welcomes all 5th- 12th graders to become part of SAY. Our youth meet in two age appropriate groups regularly throughout the year for fun, service, retreats, and discussions with the purpose of growing our faith and putting it into action! This culminates in Work- camp-a weeklong event combining service, education, and FUN in a depressed area of the country.

Our Youth will be working with other Episcopal Churches in the area too!

The Theme for this year is "The Sacred and the Secular" – Where does our faith come into play in the current world?

We will be gathering once a month, on the 3rd Sunday, from 4-5:30PM.  Together with other Episcopal churches in the area we will provide some fun large group activities for all youth in middle & high school mixing some games, food and provoking conversations into a fun time for all.  We can carpool from St. Anne's to the other churches.  Who knows - you may even know some of these youth from other churches and not even know it.

Our schedule though January will be

  • Sept. 18th - St. Nick’s - New School Year, theme: repentance, returning and starting again

  • Oct. 16th - St. John’s - Halloween - theme: all souls, all saints

  • Nov. 20th - Ascension - a time of theological reflection for some work at a soup kitchen which is in Gaithersburg; this will be a quarterly activity so our youth can build relationships with those that they serve

  • Dec. 18th - St. Peter’s -consumerism and commercialism

  • Jan 15th - St. Anne's - Epiphany - How does Christ's manifestation to the world occur in us as we look at Martin Luther King and our new president...
