St. Anne’s is thrilled to present Bethesda-born twin brothers Peter and Will Anderson on Sunday, September 4 at 4:30 p.m. as the opening concert of their 2016-2017 Community Concert series.  An extraordinary woodwind duo and excellent showmen, they offer exciting arrangements of jazz classics and fresh original music—a full range of jazz forms and styles.  They performed  tributes to Artie Shaw and the Dorsey Brothers, with the latter selling out 30 performances.

As teenagers Peter and Will were selected internationally for Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead, the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra and the National Young Arts Foundation.  They were drawn to the music of Charlie Parker, Lester Young and John Coltrane at a young age.  They toured the United Kingdom at age 15 and, after several years of study with saxophonist Paul Carr, they both attended Juilliard in New York City, where they now reside.

The brothers have headlined at The Blue Note, Jazz @ Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center and numerous jazz festivals, including the New Orleans Jazz Festival.  They have performed in more than 35 states in the U.S., toured Japan and have been featured four times in New York City’s famed Highlights in Jazz series.

Their acclaimed discography includes Reed Reflections, Déjà vu , Correspondence, Music of the Soprano Masters, and A Sax Supreme.
