Going out of my Way to share the gift of Love - Christina More - The Wiseman's Challenge

So I was out for a run when I noticed a cell phone by the side of the road.  My immediate thoughts: "I should pick that up-the person might be missing it".(I noticed the screen was cracked-had they just thrown it out?) "But this is the beginning of my run and I don't want to juggle a cell phone for 5 miles." (I don't run with a phone, iPod, headphones-this is my time to meditate, pray, and think on any issues in my life.) "Oh, but what if I can help?"  I had passed the phone and was heading up a hill and turned back to pick it up.  I put it in the pocket of my windbreaker and muttered as it shifted back and forth while I ran.  When I got home, I plugged it in to see if it was still working.  Success!  It not only worked but transmitted a message that it had been lost and gave a phone number to call.  I spoke to a woman who told me that "it is probably my oldest son's."  I asked her old he was and she told me "18."  I laughed and said I had a 17 and 19 year old and that they had each lost a phone.  My daughter's was found under her bed after months of being missing. I won't go into the state of her room...My son had lost his when it slipped out of the waistband of his sweatpants while stopped at a rest stop on the way to a hockey tournament.  We called his phone and spoke to a very sketchy fellow who told me that I couldn't retreive the phone because he had "no fixed address."  I am not making this up.  The mom was laughing at this point and I gave her directions for her son to come and pick up his phone.  Jacob was very excited to get his phone back and agreed to a photo that I told him would be posted on our church's website as I had explained the 4th Wiseman challenge. Was it a pain to run with the phone?  Yes!  Would I do it again?  Absolutely!  Christina More
