St. Clare's Guild of St. Anne's
St. Clare's Guild is an arts ministry that creates gifts for members of the congregation both to provide comfort and mark milestones.
These include prayer shawls and prayer lap robes for people who are sick or have experienced the loss of a loved one, cross-stitched pillows for infants and children who are baptized, afghans for high school graduates and handcrafted wooden crosses for confirmands and adult bapistmal candidates. Each gift is wrapped in prayer for the recipient.
We also create and sell clerical stoles and chasubles with the proceeds benefiting St. Anne's ministries.
St. Clare's Guild is an intergenerational group that meets the second Friday of each month at 11:30am. Members range in age from teenagers to those in their 70s. All are welcome to participate. No experience is necessary, since we'll provide lessons!
About our Prayer Shawls
Members of the guild create beautiful shawls as a gift of love to the recipient. The shawl is meant to symbolize the love and embrace of God. Each shawl has been lovingly made, prayed over, and blessed by our priest and those who receive the shawls continue to be held in prayer.
They are given away by the priest, church staff, and members of the congregation to members of our congregation, the local community, families and friends living here and abroad.
