Classical guitarist, Tom Rhode has performed throughout the United States, Brazil and Taiwan as a soloist and chamber musician. Performances include appearances at the Spoleto Festival, 92nd Street Y in New York City, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston and the Creative Alliance in Baltimore. He was a member of the New World Guitar Trio with whom he recorded the CD, Exiled, and has performed with the New World Symphony, The New Bedford Symphony, and the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. Mr. Rhode's performances cross the boundaries between classical, world music and jazz. A graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, he is currently completing a Ph.D. in musicology at Catholic University in Washington, D.C.. His program will feature guitar music from Brazil, Spain, and Paraguay with many selections influenced by traditional and popular musical styles.
